Information about Working in the UAE

To work in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates, an expat must receive a formal offer of employment from a sponsoring employer. Both the sponsoring employer and the foreign worker must sign the UAE employment offer. It is the responsibility of the sponsoring employer to guarantee the foreign worker has read and understood the terms of the UAE job offer before signing the document.

Once both parties have signed the offer, the sponsoring employer will give a copy of the letter to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization. If approved, a permit to work in the UAE will be issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs. Contact EmployMeGulf for help seeking work in the UAE.

The UAE employment contract must be signed by the sponsoring employer and the foreign worker and sent to the MoHRE in 14 days or less from the day the worker relocated to the UAE. The UAE work permit will be valid for 60 days, and it allows the expat to sponsor the immediate family members for relocation to the UAE if the employee makes a wage of at least AED 4,000 or AED 3,000 plus accommodation.

The foreign worker must be in good health, pass a security check and meet all the criteria to be granted a Labor Card, Residence Visa and a UAE Resident Identity Card. The UAE Residence Visa can be issued for one, two or three years.
